The Jewish Academy of Orlando (JAO) Tuition Assistance program is designed to make tuition affordable for our families.
Use this Self Evaluation Tool to quickly determine if you are eligible for Tuition Assistance based on your Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) and other assets, and if so, what the discounted cost of tuition will be. The good news is you will be able to complete this evaluation quickly, in the privacy of your own home, and get the results instantly, eliminating a lot of the uncertainty usually associated with the Tuition Assistance process. In addition, none of the information you enter in the self evaluation tool is shared, until you decide to apply for Tuition Assistance in the final step (Step 8).
To apply for Tuition Assistance please follow these steps:
Step 1 - Complete this Self Evaluation Tool
Use this tool to perform a self evaluation of your Tuition Assistance needs. After you have completed entering your information, the tool will inform you of the amount of assistance you can expect to receive, and the cost of tuition for your student(s).
If you are eligible for Tuition Assistance, and the discounted tuition costs for your student(s) is(are) acceptable, then you must submit your online Tuition Assistance Self Evaluation for approval (in Step 8 above).
The Tuition Assistance Committee will review your application and notify you within 48 hours whether your application has been approved or not. If your application is approved, your Tuition Assistance award will be subject to verification of the financial information you provided.
Step 2 - Enroll students in Jewish Academy of Orlando for the 2024-5 school year
All students, whether applying for Tuition Assistance or not, must complete the school enrollment application. Please check the Admissions page on the Jewish Academy of Orlando web site.
Step 3 - Complete the FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment application
The Jewish Academy of Orlando uses a third party company named FACTS to verify your financial information. You must complete the FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment application by the end of March, 2024.

Step 4 - Apply for your Scholarship for Private Schools
As of July 1, 2023, scholarships are available to all students, regardless of household income, who are residents of Florida and eligible to enroll in a K-12 public school. JAO will credit your tuition with the scholarship amounts received. The scholarship amount received per student for 2023 was approximately $7,800.
To apply for you Step Up scholarship, please click here and apply for a Scholarship to a Private School, and follow the instructions on this site. If the site is not ready to accept applications for the 2024-25 school year, then sign up to be notified when you can apply.
IMPORTANT: Please complete your application(s) as soon as possible. JAO has limited funds available. Funds are available on a first come, first serve basis. In addition, we recommend you enroll for your Scholarship for Private Schools as soon as possible, as funds maybe prioritized.

Enter your Adjusted Gross Income below. If you filed your 2023 taxes then use the value from this return, otherwise enter the AGI from your 2022 tax return. If you expect your income to be significantly different from your tax return, you should enter this amount. This information will be verified by FACTS.
If you and your spouse are divorced or file separately, then enter your total AGI by combining the value from each applicable return.
The tool allocates a percentage of your adjusted gross income for tuition. The percentage allocated varies based on the number of children enrolled. For one child it is 13%, two children 18%, and for three or more 22%.
If the combined value of your and your spouses net assets exceed $50,000, then 2% of the amount exceeding $50,000 will be allocated to cover your tuition. To calculate your net assets, please enter the information requested below.

If the student(s) participating in this program receives financial support from other sources of income, please enter the annual amount of these contributions below. This includes distributions from a trust, grand parents, etc.
